Abstraction is a passion for her, the space left for the viewer to construct an understanding of the painting and emotional connection to it. Her love of rusting metals, erosion and the built environment have led her into abstracted landscape. She enjoys using a variety of mediums including acrylic and oils in transparent layers, to produce pieces which have texture and depth. Using memories of places that I know and love, my aim is to paint a personal response to that subject, allowing the subject to be the inspiration of the painting rather than the resulting image. A large portion of my watercolour paintings reflect emotions and memories of landscapes past and present. Watercolour is the perfect medium to capture the transparency and fluidity of nature itself and the beauty of its very being. I work on a variety of papers and over time I have developed a collection of my favourite watercolours, which I tend to use in a limited palette style where, quite often, only two colours are used in an image. I also have available a selection of Giclée Prints and cards which are taken from original paintings.
